A classic case is when you start to move from your current state to a level of achievement. Never listen to the nay-sayers. They can pull you down anytime.
As Roosevelt said, ‘No one can make you feel inferior, except you’. Your success is in your hands – always believe in this principle.

Understand the difference between hobby and profession

A classic example today is the time you spend on FB. You waste your time there, but Zuckerberg makes money out of the same activity.
As a career builder, you should be able to decipher the difference.
What drives you
It’s very easy to get lured by the things around you. But unless you take the effort to understand your core, it would be a futile exercise.
The thing that drives you will make you have dreams, not nightmares. Your orientation will lead to a focus that can be compared to a laser.
When a ray of sunlight is dispersed, nothing happens, but when the same light is focused through a lens, the paper gets burnt.
Remember, it is the same sunlight, only the focus has changed.
Remove uncertainty
when people start out with you, there is a high level of fear in them. This is called the fear of the unknown syndrome. This can only be removed by you.
You would have taken the path before and hence you are confident. However, for your team it will be the first time and hence a sense of anxiety.
Your role as a leader is to remove those anxious moments by Walking the talk. You will need to create situations that are conducive for working
Sometimes it will be plain excitement – there might be no reason
When you embark on something worthwhile, this feeling should come. This is an indication that you are on the right track. Success is round the corner.
In most cases, money is the by-product of achieving something great. All leaders will vouch for this aspect of their achievement in their business.
All great inventions and discoveries have been an extension of the above principle. Don’t expect your goals to be any different.
Start out by having an excitement towards your achievement and financial success will follow.
You might not have a dream initially
In the beginning, you might not be sure as to ‘Why you do what you do’? But you should at least be sure as to what you don’t want.
As an example, if you are clear that you don’t want a 9 to 5 routine, then job is not for you. As middle-class, most of us don’t have a positive outlook.
However, we know, what we don’t like. Use that as a tool to determine your goal. For example, you don’t like going in traffic. Then, find a role that does not entail that – maybe work from home?
There is a difference between wanting and needing – especially money
A classic story explains the above principle. A student walks up to his teacher and asks him, why he is not as successful as the teacher was?
The teacher does not answer anything, but just asks the student to follow him to the nearby lake. As soon as they enter the lake, the teacher catches the student by the neck and pushes him into the water.
The student after a few seconds, started gasping for breath and indicates through his actions that the teacher pull him up.
When the student is up, the teacher asks him “Did you NEED air or WANT air, when you were inside the water”? “If you NEED success as badly as you NEEDED air, when you were down, you will be successful”.
Step 3 – Taking the giant leap
One of the challenges that you might face as you enter this important phase is the lack of planning. This could be a disastrous situation as you would look like a ‘rudderless boat’.
Planning ahead is an important aspect of living a fulfilled life. There are many instances that need to be encountered to ensure a smooth sail.

Build you career for others
Sometimes your motivation levels are so low that you might not have the energy. But, this is the situation that should be the guiding force.
If you observe all the great leaders, you will realize that they wanted to create a benchmark. In the beginning, there would not have been any reason to succeed.
Indian cricket is a good example of this. Till MSD entered the scene, cricket was meant to be rich or big people’s game.
His entry changed the paradigm and you could think differently. Even boys from small town can succeed.
Life is not a dress rehearsal
Unfortunately, you have been tutored that you can take it easy. Taking it lightly should be at the right time and place, else it could end up being a detrimental thing to your career.
When anyone succeeds in an endeavor, you need to understand that if you put the same commitment and seriousness, you can succeed.
When your child grows up, where are you?
All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. It’s a clichéd statement, but well worth remembering. This does not mean that you become a party animal.
But there is definitely merit in this saying, especially in this environment. Unfortunately, you get ‘brain-washed’ into believing that focusing on your growth will take care of the family.
Read books like Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. You will realize the gap. You need to invest in family, just like in your business.
Have some unique reward programs
You might be well aware now that money does not motivate all the time. As the leader of your organization you should think of alternatives.
All the people in your team cherish their time with families. There are few individuals who enjoy solitude. For the majority, who have performed have a vacation planned for them.
Create a situation that they will not be disturbed for a couple of weeks, when they are with the families. This will aid you in building a great bond with you. They will respect and trust you more.
You need to have a professional attitude towards business
Given the current trends, there are lot of situations where you might not be serious about your work. Ignited Way’s team can give you a startling news.
